About

Phoenix’s Teaching Philosophy

Got invited to play at the State Fair

While some are gifted with an innate, natural talent for music, this is not the case for
most people! Phoenix’s music and performing arts journey started with an instructor.
Having a guide and mentor is the bridge that many first time students need to keep
them on a pathway toward reaching their music goals. Whether this means learning to
read music for the first time, or performing your first solo in front of an audience,
Phoenix will help you get there and stay motivated and consistent throughout your
practice. Phoenix’s teaching philosophy is that fun comes first, and recording your progress is key. Learning in a relaxed and enjoyable environment is important to unlock your readiness to learn. While a new student learns, keeps up with drills and practice at home, and makes it to their next instruction session, it is also important to set goals. These goals are not set solely by Phoenix, but also by the student. This ensures that the student feels accomplished at every new skill, song, or performance.
